Ryu (or Raillou, according to the Street Fighter cartoon) is the protagonist of the Street Fighter series, and according to the leak of the week, is a dlc playable character in Super Smash Bros 4 (NO WAY!!). Turns out he actually is playable, though.

The Ryu data-mine fiasco[]
When Smash 4's 1.06 update came out, some Redditor allegedly data-mined the update and allegedly found data for Ryu (and Our Boy) in the files, along with several tracks from Street Fighter 2. While this could just be some guy ing around like almost every other "leak" ever, you know GameFAQs.
But then the Cutting Room Floor also claimed that these files are legit. Oh baby.

Or, according to one theory, it's an elaborate April Fools joke half a month late. Somehow.
Of course, absolutely no one cared until he was put in the files. Apparently, placeholders patched in mean absolutely nothing.
