Why?[]
Because he's Funky Kong, that's why! And if he got into Mario Kart Wii above the other three, he's definitely going to get into Smash, because that's clearly the same thing.
Dream[]
This is surprisingly similar to what his artwork looked like.
At some point during the week of July 20, 2014, kidmf935 had a dream that Funky Kong was revealed to be a playable character. He had newcomer artwork that had him atop a mountain in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with a purple color scheme. His trailer consisted of random punch comparisons between the game, some animes, and possibly a few western animations. One of his website pictures had him in a K. Rool costume. His character pose was his Mario Kart Wii artwork, except he wasn't in a car, and he was sliding/about to land from a jump to the left.

It looked like this, but with visible stitches as well. And it looked faker.
Of course, there is a conflict, If Funky Kong gets in, then he'll most likely have his K. Rool costume, meaning that K. Rool will officially be deconfirmed.
